Alaska Camps
Ephraim Palmero, Conference Youth Director
If you have never been to summer camp before, get ready for an experience that you will never forget! Alaska Camps provides an unique outdoor living experience where young people are challenged to develop skills that increase self-confidence and encourage respect, responsibility and compassion for themselves, their community and the environment. Throughout all this, the focal point is Jesus!
The Alaska Conference sponsors camps throughout Alaska for youth ages 8 – 16. Camps are held in July and August each year, with three camps in operation: Camp Tukuskoya on Flat Lake in Southcentral Alaska, Camp Polaris in Dillingham in Southwestern Alaska, and Camp Lorraine on Vank Island in Southeast Alaska.
Dates for 2012 camps are: Camp Tuk Jrs - June 17-24; Camp Tuk Teens - June 24-July 1; Camp Lorraine - July 8-15; and Camp Polaris - July 17-23.

CAMP STAFF
The camp is staffed with dedicated Christian men and women whose desire is to share Christ's enthusiasm to receive youth to His kingdom. Each camper is assigned to a counselor that will nurture and encourage positive Christian development.
The conference continues its relationship with the Upper Columbia Conference to provide trained camp staff and programming for all three camps while maintaining the unique character and mission of each camp as determined by the local camp committees responsible for the facilities and activities of each camp during the rest of the year.
Camp Director Laurie Hosey is responsible for oversight of the camps and camp staffing. If you are interested in working for Alaska Camps, the first step is to complete the application (available for download here) and forward it to Laurie by email at lauriehosey@gmail.com. If you have more specific questions, please contact Laurie. She’ll be glad to assist you!
