BARROW, ALASKA
Arctic Mission Adventure

Barrow is the economic, transportation and administrative center for the North Slope Borough.  Located on the Chukchi Sea coast, Barrow is the northern most community in the United States.  The community is traditionally known as Ukpeagvik, "place where snowy owls are hunted."  Barrow was incorporated as a first-class city in 1958.  Current population is 4,581.

Currently the conference does not have a pastoral presence in the Barrow community, but the needs are great.  A volunteer Lay Pastor or Bible Worker is needed to provide leadership and foster growth for the fledgling church in Barrow.  If you would like to support this ministry, the financial committment needed is $12,000 per year for housing and $6,000 per year utility subsidy.
