40 years after the mission school at Aleknagik closed, the impact of that institution still lives. Fred Davis attended the school has a teenager in the 1960s from the village of Selawik. He was baptized subsequently, but now Fred has experienced a renewal and recent victories over some addictions in his life and decided to give a public witness to God and his village community by his rebaptism on the first Sabbath of the new year.

Pictured is the baptismal font, which is not unlike a coffin, lined with tarps to contain the water. Pastor Jim Kincaid administers the rite of baptism. Fred is then pictured with Warren Downs who, with his wife and three young daughters, have been missionaries in Selawik for the last four years. Fred holds in his hand a book from the five volume set of condensed Conflict of the Ages books which he received as a baptismal gift.
